Location: Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands
Join Magna Mining as the Chief Mine Geologist at Crean Hill, leading geological initiatives in the Sudbury nickel and copper production hub.
Your role will be crucial in enhancing underground operation efficiency.
As Chief Mine Geologist, you will manage grade control, oversee geological mapping, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal resource extraction. You will also mentor a skilled team, driving improvements in geological technologies and processes—key to our multi-faceted growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee geological mapping and ore mark-ups
• Ensure timely ore control models and communication
• Collaborate on drilling programs and QA/QC processes
• Lead production reconciliation and reporting
• Manage relationships with external consultants
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in Geology or Earth Science
• 8+ years in underground mine geology
• 3+ years in a leadership capacity
• Proficiency in geological modeling tools
• Strong communication and leadership skills
