Environmental Compliance Technician

The Co-op Ethanol Complex (CEC) is hiring an Environmental Compliance Technician on a temporary three-month basis.

This position requires on-site work and is based in Belle Plaine, SK
.

• Conduct environmental monitoring activities, including collecting samples, coordinating third-party laboratory testing, and analyzing environmental data to support compliance requirements.
• Manage chemical inventories and maintain an up-to-date Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database, while providing guidance on the proper handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Coordinate third-party atmospheric monitoring and environmental testing programs, including scheduling site visits, ensuring health and safety requirements are met, and managing reporting timelines.
• Compile and organize environmental data to support the preparation of annual reports, regulatory submissions, investigations, audits, inspections, and other compliance-related documentation.
• Support environmental site assessments and remediation projects by identifying testing requirements, coordinating external consultants, monitoring environmental concerns, and promoting environmental stewardship and workplace safety across the organization.

The Team:
You will work closely with fellow CEC employees, reporting into the Quality Assurance & Environmental Manager. This team strives to cultivate a culture of innovation, safety, and sustainability.

We help grow Western Canadian communities through our commitment to purchase local grain and starch inputs to produce ethanol and dried distillers grain (DDG). We use the ethanol to support a lower carbon economy in Western Canada.

• Have relevant experience in environmental program delivery.
• Have a Diploma in Environmental Technology or a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
