Public Works Water Meter Technician

Location: Outer Nunavut (Iqaluit)

Take on a crucial role in Public Works as an Assistant Utility System Technician. This full-time position focuses on the repair and maintenance of water systems in a challenging environment.

In this role, you will work closely under the Utilities Systems Foreman, aiding in the repair and installation of water meters while ensuring the proper functionality of water and sewage operations. Candidates will also perform necessary cleaning and maintenance of facilities. Safety training must be completed within the first six months to support workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair and install water meters effectively

• Aid in maintaining water and sewage systems

• Ensure cleanliness of work areas and plants

• Work outdoors under various weather conditions

• Complete mandated safety training courses

Requirements:

• Grade 10 education is required

• Possess a valid Class 5 Nunavut Driver’s License

• Proficient in handling numerical data and basic computer skills

• Reliability and punctuality are essential

• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly
