Overview
KPC Power Electrical Ltd. is seeking a skilled Substation Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the installation, construction, and termination of medium and high-voltage systems, along with a deep understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC). As a medium/high voltage electrician, you will be instrumental in constructing, terminating, and ensuring the safety and dependability of critical medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Lead and participate in the construction of medium and high voltage electrical systems, meticulously adhering to the OESC and industry standards.
Oversee the installation and commissioning of medium and high voltage transformers, switch gear, and associated equipment.
Proficiently handle cable installation for medium and high voltage power distribution systems.
Proficiently terminate medium and high voltage cables, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Interpret medium and high voltage electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for planning and executing installations and terminations in construction projects.
Champion a strong commitment to safety regulations and protocols in construction and termination work, proactively mitigating risks.
Stay current with developments in the OESC and ensure all construction and termination work aligns with applicable regulations.
Maintain comprehensive records of all medium and high voltage construction and termination work, including compliance documentation and project logs.
Skills
Demonstrated expertise in medium and high voltage electrical systems, particularly in construction settings and cable terminations
In-depth familiarity with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and industry-specific construction and termination standards.
Proficiency in deciphering medium and high voltage electrical blueprints and schematics
Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Educational Requirements
Post-secondary education in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technician/Technology program
Possession of a valid 309A Electrical License issued by the Ontario College of Trades
5-10 years of electrical construction experience from a trade perspective
Working Conditions
