The Utility Operator 2 plays a vital role within the Municipal Services Department, responsible for maintenance and repairs in the Water/Waste Division. Key tasks involve managing inventory, ensuring safety guidelines, and providing team leadership. Effective communication skills are crucial for managing reports and following instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute manual labor in maintenance and construction

• Repair and maintain water distribution and sewer systems

• Identify utility lines prior to excavation work

• Maintain proper inventory control for project supplies

• Uphold safety protocols at job sites and during operations

Requirements:

• Class 3 B.C. Driver’s License with Air Endorsement

• Water Distribution Level II and Wastewater Level II certifications

• Three years’ experience in municipal maintenance work

• Skilled at using tools and equipment safely

• English proficiency for effective reporting
