Experienced Excavator Operator

Position: Experienced Excavator Operator Needed
Location: Northeastern Alberta (Fort Chipewyan)

Join the Fort McKay Group as an Experienced Excavator Operator in a mining-focused project near Fort McMurray. This safety-sensitive role involves efficient equipment operation and maintenance.

Reporting to the Team Lead, you will serve in a temporary capacity at the Syncrude Aurora site, primarily focusing on excavating various materials. The role necessitates 2-4 years' experience and skills in heavy equipment operation, particularly excavators exceeding 180 tons. You will participate in safety meetings and offer feedback for operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate excavator for excavating and loading tasks

• Perform regular equipment maintenance and inspections

• Clean equipment and ensure operational readiness

• Adapt work direction based on team guidance

• Complete additional assigned duties as required

Requirements:

• Completion of High School or GED

• Valid class five driver’s license; 3 year Drivers Abstract

• At least 2-4 years of Heavy Equipment operation

• Hold CSTS and OSSA/BSO/CSO certifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English
