Heavy Equipment Technician (Red Seal)Our client is a well-established heavy equipment dealership and service provider supporting customers across the construction, industrial, and related sectors. They specialize in the sales, service, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty equipment and are committed to providing reliable solutions and exceptional customer support.

They are currently seeking a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician to join their service team. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment while ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge, experience troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair heavy construction and industrial equipment.

Perform preventative maintenance, including inspections, fluid checks, component replacements, and equipment servicing.

Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Utilize computerized diagnostic tools to identify equipment issues and complete repairs.

Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts, components, and systems according to manufacturer specifications and service requirements.

Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and performance.

Complete accurate service reports, documentation, and repair records.

Communicate effectively with customers and equipment operators to understand concerns and explain completed repairs.

Follow all safety policies, procedures, and workplace standards.

Stay current with advancements in heavy equipment technology, diagnostic methods, and repair techniques.

Work collaboratively with service supervisors, technicians, and support teams to ensure customer needs are met.

Qualifications:

Red Seal certification as a Heavy Equipment Technician.

Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy-duty equipment.

Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and service software.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate heavy equipment as required.

Ability to work in various environments, including shop and outdoor job-site conditions.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Red Seal certification in Heavy Equipment Repair or a related trade.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

Work Environment:This role may involve working in both shop and field environments, including construction sites and outdoor settings. Candidates must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and handling physically demanding tasks associated with heavy equipment repair.
