Position: Seasonal Operator for Potato Farm
Location: Chapman Settlement

Cavendish Farms seeks a Seasonal Operator for our Potato Farm in Chapman Settlement, NS. This role focuses on recovery tractor operation during the peak harvest season.

Beginning mid-September and lasting about 3-4 weeks, this seasonal position requires dedication to a schedule of 10-14 hours per day, every day of the week. You will be responsible for the safe operation of farm tractors, regular maintenance, and supporting various tasks in the field. Effective communication and a positive attitude are key for collaborating with the team and management. General labor duties including potato grading and equipment cleaning will also be part of your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate and maintain farm tractors

• Perform daily checks and maintenance on all equipment

• Ensure effective communication with management

• Assist in general labor tasks as required

• Provide operational feedback for improvements

Requirements:

• Experience operating heavy machinery is required

• Capability to lift 50lbs as necessary

• Must be available for long hours including weekends

• Experience in farm operations is advantageous

• Strong mechanical aptitude and detail-oriented
