The Nova Scotia Department of Public Works is hiring Spare Winter Equipment Operators across multiple zones such as Middleton, Lequille, and Digby. Candidates will start with a comprehensive two-week training program, which is followed by practical experience operating snowplows, graders, and other equipment. The position is spare, thus work availability will depend on weather and operational needs, with opportunities for guaranteed work through the Winter Wage Guarantee.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate diverse snow removal equipment safely

• Perform necessary maintenance checks on all machinery

• Keep accurate daily logs and inspection reports

• Participate in road improvements and maintain signs

• Ensure traffic safety through effective control measures

Requirements:

• Minimum two years of relevant work experience
