Job Description: Our client is seeking a dependable and detail‑focused individual to join their team as a Machine Operator
. In this hands‑on role, you’ll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machines—both manual and computerized. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring high‑quality production by inspecting finished work pieces, adjusting machinery, and keeping equipment in top working condition. This position is ideal for someone with a background in manufacturing or woodworking who enjoys working with tools and precision equipment in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, program, operate, and maintain both computerized and manual machinery, including drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, sanders, planers, and wood‑nailing equipment.
  • Inspect finished work pieces for smoothness, shape, angle, cut depth, and overall compliance with specifications, using visual checks and measuring tools such as calipers, rules, templates, and gauges.
  • Start machinery, fine‑tune controls, and perform trial cuts to confirm proper machine operation.
  • Continuously monitor machine performance, making necessary adjustments to address issues and maintain adherence to production specifications.
  • Install and calibrate blades, cutterheads, boring bits, and sanding belts using appropriate hand tools and measurement instruments.
Qualifications
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Machine Operation experience highly preferred.
  • Attention to detail in manufacturing settings.
  • Experience using calipers to measure products is a plus.
  • Any experience identifying wood species (oak, cherry, walnut) is a plus.
  • Any experience grading lumber is a plus.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule (flex between 8 and 10 hours a shift).
