Job Summary:
Austintown Local Schools is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to serve as a Career Technical Education (CTE) Instructor for Entrepreneurship & Food Truck Operations at Austintown Fitch High School. This position provides hands-on instruction connected to a student-operated food truck program, helping students develop real-world skills in entrepreneurship, culinary operations, business management, and workforce readiness.
The instructor will design and deliver instruction that blends culinary arts, business fundamentals, marketing, financial literacy, and customer service, helping students gain industry-aligned skills while fostering creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Valid Ohio CTE teaching license in an appropriate career field OR
* Eligibility for a temporary 12-hour teaching permit (1-year renewable) to deliver the CTE program
* Apply for 12-hour permit: SBOE Temporary Teaching Permits
* Governing rule: OAC
* Relevant industry experience in food service, culinary arts, entrepreneurship, or business management preferred
* Experience working with high school students preferred
* Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings/weekends
* Current favorable state and federal background checks
Key Responsibilities:
* Duties/Responsibilities in accordance with Ohio Department of Education Standards
* Teach up to two (2) CTE courses per semester aligned to Ohio standards
* Supervise student participation in food preparation, service, and operations
* Coordinate food truck activities in the school and community
* Ensure health, safety, and sanitation compliance
* Participate in professional development and collaborate with staff
* Perform all duties/responsibilities in accordance with Austintown Local School District Policy and Procedures
* Follow and execute the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession
* Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Building Principal, Director of Pupil & Staff Services, and/or Superintendent
The successful candidate must have the following on file prior to starting:
* Appropriate and valid Ohio teaching credential
* Current favorable State and Federal background checks
* Official Sealed Transcripts
* Negative drug screen
Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of this position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
The successful candidate must complete any Vector/Safe Schools courses as recommended and assigned by the Administration.
