POSITION:
Intervention Specialist - Leonard Kirtz School
DUTIES (include but not limited to the following):
- Assess levels and needs of students and gather evaluative data, develop and implement IEP on the basis of evaluation and assessment.
- Provide instruction to students with developmental disabilities.
- Provide instruction in approved or adopted curriculum areas.
- Develop and implement approved behavioral plans.
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans consistent with students' Individual Educational Plans and the Ohio Extended Standards.
- Hold appropriate certificate/license as required by the Ohio Department of Education;
Intervention Specialist, preferably in the area of moderate to intensive. - Hold and maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and abuser registry clearances.
- Any other training as required by the Ohio DODD or county board policy.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity & contributing to an inclusive working environment.
- Ability to engage others with understanding & empathy.
As in negotiated agreement
HOURS: 35 hour week, (Normally 8:30am - 3:30pm, M-F during school year)
This position involves working with children and/or young adults who have developmental disabilities.
In addition to the requirements listed above, the following qualifications shall be considered in evaluating an applicant for possible employment for this position: an applicant's varied work-experience; one's training and/or education; and, one's adaptability to work with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities.
