Position: Behavior Coach (Grades K-5)

Behavior Coach (Grades K-5)

Compensation: Commensurate with experience between $25 to $30 per hour

Position Type: Non-Bargaining, full-time, eligible for district benefits, grant funded by Title I Grant

Reports To: Building Principal and/or Director of Special Education

Job Summary

The Behavior Coach supports the academic and social‑emotional success of students in grades K–5 by promoting positive behavior, providing staff coaching, and assisting with the implementation of evidence‑based behavioral practices. This role focuses on building staff capacity through coaching and modeling, while supporting students with behavioral needs within a PBIS and MTSS framework.

Essential Responsibilities

Promote positive behavior and support students with behavioral needs within a PBIS and MTSS framework. Provide coaching to staff, model evidence‑based behavioral practices, and assist with the implementation of behavior interventions.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related field
  • Valid Ohio license or ability to obtain appropriate licensure
  • Experience working with students with behavioral needs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Training in PBIS, MTSS, or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Experience with FBAs, BIPs, and behavior data collection
  • CPI or crisis intervention training
Before Beginning Employment
  • Appropriate and valid Ohio licensure
  • Current favorable State and Federal background checks
  • Official sealed transcripts
  • Ohio Auditor of State Fraud Reporting and Training

Employees must follow all board policies, state and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set by the Ohio Department of Education. Employees are required to be punctual and capable of completing all duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The successful candidate must complete annual required compliance training assigned by administration.
