Job SummaryWork directly with the Commercial Banking Team Leader, Regional Commercial Management, and Regional Credit Officer in all aspects of assigned relationship management, including following loans from application to closing, post‑closing administration and monitoring, maintaining and assisting in the growth of loan and deposit balances, generating fee income and referrals to other lines of business.
Core Responsibilities- Underwrite, credit monitor, and administer commercial banking relationships to achieve efficiencies and quality, retain and expand client relationships, grow total client assets, and net growth in relationships.
- Analyze financial data to determine loan merits, recommend structure, collect financial statements, and identify cross‑selling or referring opportunities.
- Assist with due diligence/analysis on new client relationships and opportunity memos.
- Complete mandatory and elective training including BSA and Anti‑Money Laundering procedures; maintain compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Co‑manage specific commercial relationships as appropriate, aggressively manage client relationships, and determine loan merits and structure.
- Manage credit risk and quality of the portfolio, including delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base, portfolio reviews, specialized reporting, soft exposure annual reviews, and criticized loans.
- Partner with the Relationship Manager as the client point of contact; liaise with Credit Department, Commercial support staff, and other internal business partners.
- Monitor loan repayment and financial condition of borrowing clients; take action to collect past‑due accounts and ensure repayment ability.
- Lead presentations of specific loan requests and participate in the loan approval process, recommending approval and appropriate credit structure.
- Manage the renewal process with the Relationship Manager, client, and credit department.
- Expand and deepen customer relationships by identifying needs and matching them to bank resources.
- Optimize customer relationships with Relationship Managers, Treasury Management, and other team members to grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue.
- Participate in community and business functions/groups to promote a positive image of the bank.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a four‑year college or university.
- Minimum of five years of credit analysis and/or loan review experience, preferably in banking or a combination of education and experience.
- Strong background in working with financial statements and understanding their relation to business operations and repayment ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet research.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Advanced credit analysis skills.
