CNC Machinist
Dunaway is seeking a team member who already possesses solid foundational machining skills, is early in their machining career, and fits well with our team culture (including participation in employee events and team outings). Candidates must come prepared with prior experience and understanding of machining fundamentals before starting. This individual will be expected to confidently interpret drawings, select appropriate raw stock, and machine parts to print with minimal supervision.
They should already have working knowledge of G-code and HAAS control panels, as well as familiarity with machining practices on equipment similar to our 2014‑era machines. While we provide ongoing support and training, we expect new hires to arrive with the essential skills needed to contribute from day one.
- Independently set up, program, and machine parts to drawing specifications.
- Working knowledge of G code and conversational programming.
- Working knowledge of machining steel and flame‑cut parts.
- Knowledge of how to machine with high‑speed inserts.
- Read and understand drawings to ensure all requirements are met.
- Ensure all parts are checked for dimensional accuracy and quality before completing a job.
- Ability to also operate other manual equipment (vertical and horizontal boring mills, lathes, etc).
- Graduate of a formal training program
- Up to 5 years’ experience in manual machining
- Up to 3 years of CNC programming and operating of a HAAS panel
- Climate controlled, clean shop
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts
- M‑F 7AM to 3:30PM
- No mandatory OT or weekends, but OT is offered when possible
- Pay – based on experience
