2026-27 Winter Seasonal Highway Technician 1 - District 4
Seasonal Highway Technician 1/CDL Driver ODOT District 4 is now accepting applications for Highway Technician 1 Seasonal Employees in Ashtabula, Mahoning, Portage, Stark, Summit & Trumbull Counties. This position will be a temporary unclassified appointment with a maximum of 1000 hours. (May be expected to work up to 40 hours per week based on operational need.)
What You Will Do:
You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer. You will perform highway maintenance activities; including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing. You will perform snow & ice operations.

These are seasonal, temporary positions not to exceed 1,000 hours. Based on operational need you may be required to work nights, weekends, & holidays &/or be on call. Qualifications:
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment. Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction. Job
