A growing construction-focused organization is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant with strong project accounting experience to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in job costing, AIA billing, and construction accounting who enjoys working in a collaborative, project-driven environment.

- Maintain job cost accounting and ensure project costs are accurately tracked
- The Staff Accountant will prepare and submit AIA billings and other progress billings
- Partner with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation and billing
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- The Staff Accountant will assist with month-end and year-end close
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable related to construction projects
- Review project financials, including budgets, actual costs, and cost-to-complete reports
- Track change orders and ensure they are reflected in project accounting
- The Staff Accountant will prepare financial reports and support audit requests
- Help maintain internal controls and identify process improvements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based accounting
- Strong job costing experience required
- Experience with AIA billing or construction billing processes preferred
- Experience with Sage or other construction accounting software is a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
