Commercial Construction Estimator Direct Hire – Hybrid Schedule (3 Days On Site)

Qualifications:

• 4 or more years of estimating experience.
• BS degree in Construction or Engineering is preferable but not required.
• Experience in hard bid, conceptual, and negotiated estimating.
• Knowledge of on-screen takeoff systems.
• Familiarity with the local subcontract market.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
• Develop project schedules.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Negotiating skills.
• Multi-task and balance priorities and deadlines across multiple projects.
• Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Description

Responsible for preparing comprehensive and competitive proposals for both private and public construction projects – Ex: educational, institutional, hospitality, multi-family, and healthcare sectors. Performing project take-offs, pricing materials and labor, and creating preliminary budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and deliver timely, accurate, and comprehensive proposals.
• Prepare and document quantity take-offs for materials and pricing.
• Review and compare accurate job costs.
• Evaluate bid documents and request material quotes.
• Understand all pertinent bid documents and qualify subcontractor proposals.
• Communicate effectively with the Estimating Department, Project Managers, Architects, and Engineers.
• Assist in the pre-construction process upon project award and start-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
