Industrial Engineer of Supply Chain & Procurement - Buyer

Full Time. Day Shift. Reporting to Procurement Manager. Exempt employee.

• Promptly purchase all commodities and technical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, controls, vessels, and piping) for the manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment systems.
• Copies data and compiles records and reports.
• Operated computer terminal to input and retrieve data.
• Purchases supplies.
• Data entry of all purchase orders.
• Assisting other departments when required.
• Review requisitions.
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Prepares purchase orders or bid requests, and contacts vendors to ascertain order status.
• Contact vendors with discrepancies in quantity and quality.
• Interfaced with all departments and resolved problems and issues with needed purchase items.
• Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
• Traveling when needed to meet project requirements; role can be performed remotely with 30–50% travel.

• Ability to obtain and review quotations from vendors for projects.
• Ability to negotiate supplier prices and purchase commodities to expedite projects and meet due dates.
• Ability to approve supplier invoices, manage the purchasing budget, check for missing material, and follow up on partial deliveries.
• Ability to maintain budget reports.
• Ability to handle nonconformance with the Quality department.
• Knowledge of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems is preferred.
• Prior purchasing experience with international vendors is desired.
• Working knowledge of SAP.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Two (2) years of experience preferred.
• One (1) year of experience with SAP preferred.
