Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to support the operation of both pilot and lab scale testing apparatus. The role involves operating small-scale equipment such as pumps, heaters, and mixers, preparing samples for testing, performing laboratory analytical tests, and managing data and sample results.

Responsibilities

+ Operate pilot scale testing apparatus.

+ Perform light maintenance on small-scale equipment such as pumps, heaters, and mixers.

+ Operate lab scale testing apparatus.

+ Prepare samples for testing.

+ Perform various laboratory analytical tests.

+ Manage samples for third-party laboratory analysis.

+ Communicate data and results effectively.

+ Maintain cleanliness of lab and operating areas.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in laboratory, chemistry, and wet chemistry techniques.

+ Experience in R&D and data analysis.

+ Knowledge of instrumentation including IC, ICP, FTIR.

+ Ability to perform titration and use reverse osmosis.

+ Strong analytical chemistry skills.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Biology.

+ Associate in Applied Science Degree with chemistry experience and 3 years related work experience.

+ Experience in benchtop wet chemistry analytical procedures.

+ Familiarity with standard laboratory instruments.

+ Utilization of probes for measuring process variables.

+ Use of HACH analytical systems, analytical balance, and volumetric glassware.

+ Familiarity with Inductively Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) and Ion Chromatography (IC) analysis.

Work Environment

The position is based on-site in a lab environment with a Monday to Friday work schedule. Typical working hours are from 7 am to 4 pm, with flexibility required for start times. The lab, which is 1.5 years old, is expanding its infrastructure for analytical work and additional pilot/experimental testing. It is a dynamic environment with a variety of tests and experiments.

No weekend work is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canonsburg, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
