Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Our PIC farms rely on well‑maintained equipment and infrastructure to keep animals healthy and the farms running smoothly - and that’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a practical, hands‑on Maintenance Technician who enjoys problem‑solving, working independently and taking ownership of their sites.
This is not a production line or factory maintenance role. You’ll be out across the farms, diagnosing faults, repairing equipment and preventing breakdowns before they happen.
No two days are the same.
What you’ll be doingYou’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing buildings, plant and equipment across the farm, with a strong focus on preventative maintenance.
You’ll work on:- Water systems (pumps, drinkers, tanks and pipework)
- Ventilation and climate control systems (fans and controllers)
- Feeding systems (augers, feeders and silos)
- Heating equipment
- Effluent and waste systems
- Fencing, gates and general farm infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting faults and carrying out repairs
- Responding to breakdowns and alarms when required
Our farms operate under strict safety and biosecurity requirements. You’ll follow site procedures, identify hazards and ensure maintenance work does not compromise animal welfare or farm operations.
What we’re looking for- 5 years’ experience in a maintenance technician position, preferably within a farming environment
- Hands‑on repair and fault‑finding skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Good problem‑solving skills
- Full driver’s licence.
- Experience with pumps, motors, augers or automated systems
- Agricultural, irrigation or rural maintenance experience
- Welding or fabrication skills
- Electrical troubleshooting experience.
