Join our friendly and fun team as a Cashier & Delivery Driver at LaSalle Market! As the first point of contact for our customers—whether in-store or at their doorstep—you'll help make every experience sweet, smooth, and memorable.
- Greet customers with a warm and professional attitude.
- Answer questions about products, pricing, and deli menu items.
- Suggest add-ons or promotions to enhance the customer experience.
- Operate a cash register or POS system.
- Accurately handle cash, credit, debit, and mobile payments.
- Issue receipts, count change, and balance the drawer.
- Sanitize the register area, counter surfaces, and payment devices.
- Restock bags, receipt paper, and other front-end supplies.
- Maintain a neat and orderly checkout station.
- Notify supervisors of low-stock items or out-of-stock concerns.
- Scan items and assist with basic stock checks as needed.
- Assist coworkers during busy shifts by bagging items or managing line flow.
- Relay customer feedback or unusual transactions to the shift lead or manager.
- Deliver food orders promptly and courteously to customers in the local area.
- Ensure orders are complete, accurate, and safely transported.
- Represent LaSalle Market with professionalism and friendliness during each drop-off.
Day in the Life of LaSalle Market Cashier:
- Start your day by clocking in early, greeting your team, and setting up your register for the morning rush.
- Wipe down your station, review store promotions, and stock your area with bags and receipt paper.
- Welcome customers with a smile as they arrive for their morning coffee or sandwich orders.
- Scan items accurately and process payments efficiently, whether by card, cash, or digital wallet.
- Help the deli team by answering customer questions and coordinating on large or custom orders.
- Keep an eye on product availability and let the shift lead know if something's running low.
- Take a break to recharge and enjoy a quick meal from the deli counter—perks of the job!
- Handle busy lunch and early evening crowds while keeping the lines moving smoothly.
- Support coworkers when things get hectic, jumping in to bag items or assist with register issues.
- As the day winds down, clean your station, count your drawer, and report totals to your manager.
- End your day by clocking out, sharing any customer feedback or important updates, and heading home with a sense of accomplishment.
What You'll Need to be Successful:
- Minimum of 6 months of hands-on experience working in retail customer service as a Cashier, Sales Associate or similar role.
- Valid Driver License.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and making change.
- Ability to stay alert for pricing errors, counterfeit money, or suspicious behavior.
- Friendly and professional demeanor with customers.
- Clear verbal communication and active listening.
- Ability to remain calm and courteous during busy or challenging situations.

Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, typically throughout the entire shift.
