SummaryThe project manager is responsible for the overall setup and completion of projects within budget and on schedule, to Kent's quality of safety standards and the customer's satisfaction. This position works with the operations manager and superintendent(s) to create corrective action plans to maintain budgets, position the field team to overcome obstacles, and potentially accelerate the project schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities- Work with the Director of Operations, General Superintendents, and Superintendents to plan, organize, and direct project activities.
- Contract review and adherence to all company policies related to legally binding documents.
- Work with the contract administrator to manage the financial aspects of contracts, protecting the company’s interests while maintaining a good relationship with the customer.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within company policy and contract specifications. Confer with the Director of Operations, General Superintendents, and Superintendents to discuss work procedures, complaints, construction problems, and cost-effective means and methods.
- Interface with clients to manage any changes, issues, or disputes.
- Monitor and control the project through the administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure it is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures with input from the Team.
- Generate & submit all change order requests within the contract terms and established unit rates.
- Approve all invoices for suppliers and subcontractors that have been correctly submitted.
- Assist in generating POs and scopes of work.
- Work with superiors to identify and mitigate risk while avoiding and managing problems.
- Generate timely AR billings for projects.
- Monitor all job costs and communicate with the Director of Operations and Superintendents to avoid job cost fade while ensuring the integrity of job costing and budgets.
- Prevent, mitigate, and manage problems related to cost overruns, product problems, or other field or project management issues.
- Formulate reports concerning work progress, costs, and scheduling.
- Requisition supplies and materials to complete the project.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
- Represent the company’s interests in industry trade groups, job site meetings, and other industry events to build rapport with clients and prospects.

Required Experience, Education, and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, construction science, or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience. 5 - 8 years’ experience in construction management, including estimating, project scheduling and control, and management of field personnel.
- Knowledge and ability to prepare detailed planning for construction projects, schedules, and estimates and to make proper modifications to such, using a computer and standard company software.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications. Ability to perform quantity take-offs, estimate construction costs, organize bid forms and bid packages, and manage project budgets. In-depth knowledge of construction principles/practices is required.
- Experience building relationships and working with subcontractors and vendors.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s).
- Ability to pass drug screening.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
