Position: Science Teacher (6-7)

SCIENCE TEACHER (6th - 7th) Full Time FY Cherokee County GA

Cherokee Classical Academy seeks Science Teachers for grades 6th through 7th. Teachers are responsible for the education of their students, demonstrating high moral character and mastery of the subjects they teach. They will collaborate to create a safe, secure, and respectful learning environment and report to the Lower School Dean of Academics on CCA’s Cherokee County campus. Position starts July 2026.

Responsibilities

Teach the Hillsdale College K–12 Science Scope and Sequence with fidelity, ensuring alignment to content expectations and classical instructional practices

Use student data and assessments to inform instruction, identify learning gaps, and adjust teaching to ensure student growth and mastery

Plan lessons and deliver instruction for approx. 18‑26 students according to CCA’s classical curriculum and pedagogy

Develop and maintain a climate and culture of joy, order, and wonder, managing student misconduct promptly and appropriately

Engage professionally with students, parents, faculty, and staff

Model good judgment, prudence, virtue, self‑discipline, and responsibility

Develop and implement student interventions, collaborating with specialists to create and implement IEPs

Engage in professional development to deepen subject content and classical pedagogy

Use appropriate technology in teaching and learning, record keeping, assessment, evaluation, and performance analysis

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited college (required)
Valid teaching certification in Georgia is preferred but not required
Previous experience in classical education is preferred but not required
Excellent written and oral communication skills

CCA serves grades K‑7 for the 2026‑2027 school year and plans to add a grade each year until reaching a full K‑12 configuration.
