Minimum QualificationsA valid Georgia Educator Certificate in assigned teaching field as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Roles & Responsibilities- Demonstrate an understanding of the curriculum, subject content, pedagogical knowledge, and student needs to provide relevant learning experiences.
- Exhibit best practice based on current research and facilitate students’ use of higher-level thinking skills.
- Plan effective strategies, resources, and data using State and local curricula and standards to address differentiated needs of all students.
- Analyze student learning data to inform planning.
- Promote student learning through research‑based instructional strategies that engage students in active learning and develop key skills.
- Use appropriate instructional technology and a variety of research‑based strategies and resources to enhance student learning.
- Support each student’s learning by providing appropriate content and working through individual learning differences.
- Employ diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment strategies and instruments that are valid and appropriate to inform instructional modifications.
- Collect, analyze, and use relevant data to measure student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.
- Maintain a well‑managed, safe, supportive, and orderly environment conducive to learning, respecting diversity.
- Establish clear expectations for classroom rules, routines, and procedures, enforcing them consistently.
- Implement school safety measures and crisis emergency plans to create a secure learning environment.
- Create a student‑centered academic environment where teaching and learning occur at high levels and students become self‑directed learners.
- Demonstrate commitment to professional ethics and the school’s mission; participate in professional growth and contribute to the profession.
- Compile, maintain, and submit all required reports accurately and timely.
- Carry out duties in accordance with federal and state laws and school policies.
- Maintain valid license, certificate, or credential as required.
- Adhere to work scheduling and attendance requirements.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, district and school personnel, and stakeholders to enhance learning.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other staff to ensure student progress.
- Engage in ongoing communication and share instructional goals, expectations, and progress in a timely manner.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
