MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMaster’s degree or higher in education or related field. Minimum of five successful years as an educator preferred. Leadership experience at the school or district level preferred. Strong knowledge of K-12 curriculum; ability to communicate effectively; strong organizational skills; considerable understanding of federal programs.
GOALAssist the Supervisor of Federal Programs with ensuring the effective organization and operation of federal programs and funding, specifically related to curriculum and instruction, professional development, and parent engagement to maximize efficient use of all available resources to improve student achievement.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide leadership and supervise development of a comprehensive K-12 ESOL program, including WIDA standards of assessment.
- Develop, manage, and monitor Title III/IC/ESOL budget allocations and expenditures to ensure that that District objectives are achieved, resources are effectively utilized, and sound fiscal practices are followed.
- Develop, initiate, monitor and evaluate strategies for improving parent engagement.
- Provide support and guidance for ESOL related screening and assessment processes.
- Implement ESOL instructional models that are evidence/research based or considered best practices in the field.
- Participate in the development of School Improvement Plans.
- Provide professional development opportunities/technical assistance based on individual school needs.
- Develop and maintain the Consolidated Application for Federal Funding within the Georgia Department of Education Portal.
- Review School District policies, procedures and forms and make recommendations for revisions as needed.
- Work with administrative personnel in analyzing the assessment of student learning and the interpretation of student data to gauge the instructional effectiveness of the impact of resources.
- Collaborate and network with colleagues and other agencies to ensure the implementation of program goals and guidelines.
- Prepare presentations, special reports and/or documents to provide technical assistance to schools in meeting federal requirements as well as to procure support and resources.
- Evaluate and modify translation interpretation procedures to ensure school and District compliance as required by Title VI.
- In collaboration with the Director of Federal Programs, organize, lead and monitor systemic efforts for compliance in federal programs with Private Schools.
- Assist with the preparation and revision of the District Federal Programs Handbook.
- Assist with establishes procedures and guidelines for student eligibility and service for applicable federal programs.
- Assist with ensuring that property management standards are followed for federal programs.
- In collaboration with the Director of Federal Programs, oversee the development, revision and evaluation of the Comprehensive Local Education Agency Plan (CLIP), including the equity action plan.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies.
- Communicate effectively in both written and oral forms to facilitate program implementation.
- Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
- Review current developments, literature, and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
