Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid Georgia Teaching Certification; or Out-of-State Teaching Certification; or the equivalent of at least two years of eligible post-secondary college credit.
Goal:
To enable students to pursue their education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of their regular Teacher/Paraprofessional.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report to the school secretary upon arrival at the school
- Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and the classroom to which they are assigned
- Teach the lesson outlined and planned by the absent teacher
- Consult with appropriate administrator(s) before changing any teaching or other procedures
- Assume responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in the classroom
- Report in writing any pertinent information on the day's activities at the conclusion of each teaching day
- Follow all policies, rules and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates
- Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures
- Follow Federal and State laws, as well as Board policies
- Perform other duties as may be assigned
Compensation - Substitute Teacher $18.75/HR $150.00/DY 8 hour day Substitute Paraprofessional $13.33/HR $99.98/DY 7.5 hour day
This position is a temporary assignment; payment based on hours worked, and as work is available, with no eligibility or seniority for employee benefits; except for participation in a CCSD retirement savings account. All employees are eligible to participate in a 403(b) or 457(b) retirement savings account.
