Electrical Designer​/Modeler

The Electrical Designer/Modeler is responsible for developing and producing electrical design and 3D models of power and control systems in oil & gas facilities. This includes lighting, cable trays, earthing, power distribution, and instrument interfaces. The role involves close collaboration with electrical engineers and other disciplines to ensure constructible and clash-free electrical layouts in accordance with project requirements.

• Create and update 2D drawings and 3D models of electrical systems like Cable tray routing, Lighting layouts, Grounding and lightning protection, Equipment location plans
• Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings, electrical room layouts, and interconnection diagrams.
• Prepare drawings for substation layouts, MCC rooms, JB schedules, and duct banks.
• Model electrical components using tools like SP3D

  , or Revit MEP

• Coordinate 3D models with piping, structural, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Follow electrical equipment layout guidelines to ensure accessibility, maintainability, and safety clearances.
• Generate and update Cable tray layouts, Lighting & small power layouts, Earthing layouts, Equipment layout plans.
• Incorporate redlines and mark‑ups from engineers, checkers, and site feedback.
• Prepare electrical MTOs (material take‑offs) from models.

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Drafting.
• 7-12yrs of experience within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
• AutoCAD, Micro Station, Smart Sketch
• SP3D, E3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL), Navisworks
• Equipment layouts, cable tray routing, lighting design, earthing concepts
• Ability to interface with other disciplines to avoid clashes and resolve routing issues
• Experience preparing detailed layout drawings, BOMs, and as‑built drawings

• Accurate, detailed, and standards‑compliant electrical drawings ready for construction and procurement
• Coordinated and interference‑free 3D models aligned with piping, structural, and HVAC layouts
• Practical and safe electrical layouts ensuring maintainability, cable management, and space efficiency
• Timely completion of design packages and drawing submissions aligned with project schedules
• Reduction in rework and site conflicts due to thorough upfront coordination and constructible design
