Place Services, Inc., has an immediate need for a Director of FP&A to be based out of our Corporate HQ in Canton, GA location.

The Director of FP&A is responsible for leading the preparation of PSI’s annual budget, long-range forecasts, and rolling financial projections.

What You will Do:
  • Analyze job cost performance at project and portfolio levels; identify trends and risks.
  • Prepare monthly management reports with variance analysis and KPI dashboards.
  • Build financial models for bids, change orders, and capital investments.
  • Partner with operations and estimating teams to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Provide real-time decision support for project scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation.
  • Design and maintain performance dashboards for executives and project managers.
  • Support strategic initiatives like market expansion or new service lines with financial insight.
  • Identify profitability improvement opportunities by client, market, and project type.
  • Lead the preparation of the PSI's annual budget, long-range forecasts, and rolling financial projections.
  • Work with the CFO to develop strategic capital plans for major projects, equipment purchases, and expansion initiatives.
  • Collaborate with ELT and SLT to align the financial strategy with growth goals (e.g., market expansion, new business lines).
Financial Analysis & Reporting
  • Develop a PSI template to analyze job cost performance at both project and portfolio levels, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Using the EOS format, create monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for executives and the board.
  • Track and analyze work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, backlog health, and gross margin trends.
  • Build models to assess the financial viability of bids, proposals, and change orders.
Operational Decision Support
  • Support Executive leaders by partnering with VPs, General Managers, project managers, and estimators to improve cost control and forecast accuracy.
  • Provide real-time financial insight for project scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor management.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of material cost fluctuations, labor rates, and subcontractor performance.
  • Monitor cash flow, bonding capacity, and credit availability to ensure healthy liquidity.
  • Support compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with risk management to assess the financial impact of contract terms, insurance claims, and litigation.
  • Ensure all taxes are understood in advance and paid promptly.
Process & Systems Improvement
  • Collaborating with Controller, the FP&A individual will implement financial dashboards and KPIs tailored to construction project performance.
  • Enhance Acumatica's job costing and forecasting tools to improve accuracy and reduce reporting delays.
  • Implement new ADP payroll system.
  • Standardize financial planning processes across divisions, regions, or business units to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Demonstrates business acumen as an understanding of the critical business success factors in the context of the internal and external environment and drives their consideration in decision-making.
  • Possess technical capabilities in understanding guidelines, regulations, principles, risks, standards, and processing financial transactions or making accounting decisions.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills to mobilize, support and guide the collective group of individuals toward the achievement of objectives.
  • Provides ownership and accountability to accomplish the desired result and make improvements.
  • Works effectively with team to accomplish organizational goals; taking actions that respect the needs and contributions of others.
Education/

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field (MBA, CFA or CPA preferred).
  • 7-10+ years of progressive finance experience, with a strong background in FP&A, strategic financial modeling, and business analysis in a construction environment.
