Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive sleep diagnostic services by performing polysomnography tests on adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Ensures accurate data collection and patient safety during sleep studies to assist in diagnosing sleep disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients and equipment for sleep studies, ensuring proper setup and calibration.
- Monitor polysomnograms throughout the testing process, documenting findings accurately per policy.
- Maintain clear communication with patients and team members regarding procedures and patient status.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure the quality of sleep studies for reliable results.
- Complete timely documentation of sleep activity, abnormalities, movement arousals, and respirations.
- Comply with licensing, certification, and hospital policies, including holiday scheduling.
Qualifications:
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in sleep disorder testing within a clinical setting.
- Hold current and unrestricted certification with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).
- Maintain a current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.
- Display expertise in sleep activity, abnormalities, movement arousals, and respirations.
- Ability to work nights, including holidays, as required.
