American Traveler is hiring a Polysomnographic Technologist with 2+ years of specialty experience and current RPSGT or BRPT certification for a 12-hour night shift assignment.
Requirements- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the polysomnography specialty, including 1 year in sleep study activity
- Current BLS certification required
- Current and unrestricted certification or registration as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) through BRPT required
- License required if applicable
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Demonstrated expertise in sleep disorders, sleep activity, abnormalities, movement arousals, and respirations
- Sleep Disorder Lab setting within a hospital-based sleep disorders center
- Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients undergoing sleep disorder testing
- 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week, varying between 7:00 PM and 7:30 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours weekly
- Prepares patients and equipment for sleep disorder testing and monitors polysomnograms, documenting per facility policy
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
- Does not accept local candidates within 50 miles of the facility
- Returning perm staff must have a 2-year break before returning as a traveler
