Minimum QualificationsAssociate’s Degree or equivalent preferred. Five years successful work experience designing and configuring structured networks and supporting LAN/WAN environments, products and applications. Hands-on experience with TCP/IP, SNA, ethernet, fast ethernet, hubs, multiprotocol routers and switches. Two years employee/project managerial experience preferred.
GOALEnsure the proper operation of the Local and Wide Area Networks throughout the school district, and provide hardware, software and networking support to all school facilities.
RepresentativeDuties & Responsibilities
- Provide hardware, software and networking support to end-users throughout the school district.
- Oversee network analyst in the execution and implementation of technology installations.
- Assist in the development of Professional Development objectives for the Network Analyst.
- Participate in the periodic review of designated employee’s job performances.
- Research and recommend new technologies that may add value and quality to the school system operations.
- Have a firm understanding of computer hardware design and the ability to successfully configure systems to operate according to design specifications.
- Oversee the coordination, and actively participate in the installation of new technology-based labs.
- Consult with users to define technical needs and requirements.
- Develop and maintain a system that tracks and manages the network configuration for each school/site.
- Ensure that the technology naming and numbering standards are followed.
- Define training needs and requirements to ensure smooth network operations.
- Thoroughly document unique networking solutions and configurations and share that information with Cherokee County technology personnel.
- Establish and update work-flow processes as directed and based upon need for general hardware, software and network setup and installation.
- Setup, troubleshoot and provide training on new technologies as acquired by the Cherokee County School District.
- Deliver training to Network Analyst that will support basic network fundamental skills as well as advanced technical skills.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Professionally represent the school district at meetings, conventions, and conferences when required and approved.
- Maintain a positive, professional and safe work environment.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies of the Cherokee County School System.
- Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predicable and punctual manner.
- Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignments.
- Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
- Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
