City of Canton, Georgia Work Authorization: US Citizen Security Clearance / Suitability

No federal clearance required Must pass City of Canton background check Must comply with City cybersecurity, backup, and disaster recovery policies Must maintain confidentiality of City data and systems

Manages backup operations, disaster recovery planning, and restore testing for all covered systems.

Backups must occur every 8 hours minimum Must define RTO and RPO Must conduct annual restore testing Must define retention periods

Manage backup schedules and retention policies Monitor backup success/failure Perform annual restore tests and document results Ensure near‑real-time incremental backups where possible Support disaster recovery planning and execution

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field Preferred certifications:

• Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
• Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
• CompTIA Server+ or Cloud+

8+ years of experience in backup administration, disaster recovery, or business continuity Experience with Veeam, Azure, and on-premises backup systems Experience defining RTO/RPO, retention policies, and performing restore testing Experience supporting municipal or enterprise environments preferred
