Job Title:

Procurement Manager

Reports to:

Chief Operating Officer (COO) / MD

Job Overview:

The Procurement Manager will manage the company’s procurement operations, develop procurement strategies, and ensure cost-effective purchases of all goods and services. The role involves negotiating with suppliers, managing orders, and ensuring that procurement processes comply with company policies and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet the organization’s quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors.

  • Negotiate terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value for the organization.

  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply chain or procurement issues.

  • Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies:

  • Design and implement efficient procurement strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Continuously evaluate the supply chain to identify and mitigate risks.

  • Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, and service.

  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

  • Procurement Operations:

  • Oversee the entire procurement process, from requisition to delivery.

  • Manage the procurement process and provide guidance and support to the production team.

  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet company needs.

  • Contract Management:

  • Prepare and review procurement contracts, ensuring they meet company standards and legal requirements.

  • Monitor P.O. performance and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.

  • Budget and Cost Control:

  • Develop and manage procurement budgets.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement cost-reduction initiatives.

  • Track and report on procurement metrics to senior management.

  • Compliance and

    Risk Management:

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.

  • Identify and manage risks related to the supply chain and procurement processes.

  • Ensure suppliers meet all Dagard safety requirements.

  • Supplier Performance and Quality Assurance:

  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure they meet quality standards and delivery timelines.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of suppliers to maintain high-quality standards.

  • Technology and Systems:

  • Implement and manage the ERP (procurement) software and tools.

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting through the use of this technology.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.

  • Communicate procurement strategies and updates to senior management and other relevant parties.

  • Qualifications:

    • Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is preferred.
    • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar role for 5 years..
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and contract management.
    • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.

    Working Conditions:

    • Office environment with occasional travel to supplier locations.
    • Regular interactions with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
