Lumos is looking for a full-time Manager – OSP Construction
. If you have experience as a construction leader in telecommunications & FTTH and thrive in a fast-paced environment, you may be a fit to help us grow, improve processes, and deliver reliable fiber service.
As a Manager, you will drive the flawless execution of Outside Plant (OSP) network builds, interfacing with subcontractor teams, motivating them to meet key milestones, and collaborating with internal Lumos teams to build relationships with local officials and community representatives.
Hybrid Position Requires regular onsite presence at multiple jobsites in-market. Successful candidates must reside within market or within 1 hour commuting distance from Lowndes County, GA. Company vehicle + mobile phone provided. Valid, fully unencumbered Driver’s License required.

Essential Functions- Accomplishes assigned market builds safely, on time, and within budget.
- Manages scheduling and coordination of maintenance, repair, and upgrade of OSP facilities and related community interactions, including rehab work, customer and community responses, generator routines, and emergency call-outs.
- Delegates responsibility effectively and empowers direct reports to design builds, track progress, and motivate contractor crews.
- Influences internal and external teams to ensure progress and alignment with targets.
- Interfaces with local governments and communities, responding timely and graciously.
- Keeps internal and external stakeholders informed on build progress at all times.
- Provides technical leadership to direct reports and subcontractor teams; establishes, standardizes and improves processes.
- Coordinates with utilities and pole/aerial teams in alignment with Lumos engineering to plan and execute objectives.
- Manages CAPEX, OPEX, and inventory tracking; approves expenses.
- Builds and maintains a high-performing team; selects candidates, evaluates performance, and identifies training opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including departmental and cross-functional projects.
- 10+ years’ experience in OSP construction, engineering, or operations fiber builds.
- 2-5 years’ experience leading techs and contractors in a fiber build environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Proven project management skills; ability to manage multiple milestones to closure within the market.
- Proactive, independent, and self-motivated with strong initiative.
- Active, fully unencumbered driver’s license.
- Fiber or Telecom industry experience is essential.
- Strong experience influencing and directing the work of others.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for engaging with direct reports, internal teams, contractors, and community stakeholders.
- Solid computer skills and experience with software such as Smart Sheets or similar, plus MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word);
Visio and PowerPoint helpful.
- Frequent travel to construction sites; standing, walking, and navigating in all weather.
- Frequent use of sight, speech, hearing, comprehension, and reasoning.
