Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Location:
Canton, GA
Full benefits start on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment:
Compensation and Schedule- Training (up to 90 days): $34.20/hr, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Post Training, Weekday Nights: $36.20/hr ($34.20 base + $2.00 shift differential)
- Post Training, Weekend Nights: $36.70/hr ($34.20 base + $2.50 shift differential)
Schedule after training alternates weekly:
Week 1 is Friday through Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Week 2 is Thursday through Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
The candidate MUST take the Ramsey Maintenance test prior to being hired.
What You Will Do- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems on heavy industrial extrusion presses, CNC machining centers, and support equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance per schedule to minimize unplanned downtime across production lines
- Install, maintain, repair, or rebuild complicated machine tools, special purpose machines, and plant equipment under minimal supervision
- Disassemble problem equipment, diagnose root cause, and determine the extent of repairs; repair, refit, or replace worn or defective parts
- Perform fabrication, welding, and torch cutting using SMAW, MIG, and TIG processes as required for maintenance and repair work
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics including hydraulic and pneumatic circuit diagrams
- Execute building maintenance tasks including light carpentry and general facility upkeep
- Champion a safety first culture by exercising and promoting safe work practices in all maintenance activities
- 3 to 5 years of heavy industrial mechanical maintenance experience as a millwright and/or maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience with proficiency in SMAW, MIG, and TIG welding processes
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems including the ability to troubleshoot circuits and read schematics
- Ability to read and comprehend mechanical blueprints and technical drawings
- High school diploma or GED
- Must pass the Ramsey Maintenance Test with a minimum score prior to interview
- U.S. Person status required (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee) to comply with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). This information is collected solely for compliance with U.S. export control requirements.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds at any time during a shift. Must be able to stand, walk, and use hands regularly throughout the shift.
- MUST be willing to take the Ramsey Maintenance Test
- Technical training, degree, or diploma in industrial maintenance or a related discipline
- Experience with large scale extrusion presses or aerospace manufacturing equipment
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance software systems
