Plant Manager Job Description

Purpose of the JobDirect and indirect management and coordination of all plant operations, including distribution operations, production operations, maintenance, safety, quality, and any other operations related activities.
Essential FunctionsManages distribution operations for shipping and receiving. Manages production operations, including production planning and scheduling. Manages quality, equipment maintenance and safety within the facility. Manages operational support for daily billing, receiving, cycle counts, customer returns, and internal and external customer support. Responsible for specific KPI metrics for the overall plant performance. Controls and minimizes labor, overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
Provides direction, development, training support and leadership to plant employees.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree in operations management or a related field and over five years plant/general management experience. Safety‑first mindset, with demonstrated ability to improve working conditions and ensure a safe and engaging work environment. Sound understanding of LEAN concepts with experience in implementing the tools to drive a culture of continuous improvement. Experience with production planning, scheduling, scheduling methodology and distribution operations SAP and/or Quick Books software experience desirable.
Able to work in a team environment and fulfilling objectives and goals with minimum direct supervision. Detail‑oriented and ability to multitask. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
