Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III Special Care Nursery (NICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of neonatal specialty experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- 13-week contract in a hospital Special Care Nursery (SCN) setting
- Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit providing care to neonates with medical and/or surgical problems
- Patient population includes neonates born at the facility as well as potential transfers from other hospitals, evaluated on a case-by-case basis
- 12-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 3 shifts per week
- 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week period
- Holiday coverage is required
- No on-call requirements
- Equipment used includes ReCam ophthalmic imaging system, cardiac monitors, warmer beds, and isolettes
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff returning as travelers must have a 2-year break from the facility before being eligible
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront prior to offer — requests cannot be made after an offer is accepted
- Active GA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and NRP certifications (AHA-issued, must not be expired)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in neonatal/NICU specialty required
- Driver's license required for consideration
