Qualifications &

Job Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent NICU RN / Neonatal ICU RN experience (travel nursing experience a plus)
  • Required Certifications: AHA BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Preferred Certifications: AHA ACLS, PALS
  • Skills: IV start experience, strong neonatal assessment and monitoring skills, experience with newborn transition and the “border” population
  • Practice Style: Compassionate, family-centered communication with strong patient/family education skills
  • Location Note: No local candidates within 50 miles — ideal for travel nurses relocating to Canton, GA
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, family-centered nursing care for newborns requiring close observation and clinical support in the Neonatal ICU / NICU setting
  • Provide focused neonatal assessments, monitor trends, and escalate changes in condition promptly (neonatal assessment, vital sign trending)
  • Assist with care for infants in the “border” gray area who need support but may not meet full NICU admission criteria
  • Initiate and manage IV access, IV therapies, and other provider-ordered interventions per unit protocols
  • Partner with parents and caregivers using family-centered care principles—provide education, emotional support, and discharge teaching
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (neonatology, respiratory therapy, lactation consultants, social work) to coordinate care and safe transitions
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
