Position Summary
Northside Radiology Associates is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to work in collaboration with radiologists to provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will be proficient in providing procedure and imaging‑based radiology services in both hospital and outpatient clinic settings. This role involves patient evaluation, history and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, performing image‑guided procedures, and developing treatment plans within the established standards of care.
The PA/NP will also serve as a clinical leader, contributing to process improvement initiatives and fostering communication between referring physicians, medical staff, and patients.
- Provide comprehensive medical services under the supervision and direction of the radiologist in hospital, outpatient, and affiliated office settings.
- Perform initial patient assessments, including history and physical exams.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests as appropriate.
- Perform image‑guided procedures, including but not limited to:
- Arthrograms
- Joint injections
- Lumbar punctures
- Paracentesis
- Cystograms
- Tube studies
- Barium swallows
- Biopsies
- Drain placements
- Hysterosalpingography (HSG)
- Obtain informed consent and educate patients and families regarding procedures and treatment plans.
- Write and manage pre‑, intra‑, and post‑procedure orders.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, nursing staff, referring physicians, and radiologists.
- Perform daily rounds, monitor patient progress, and provide updates to medical staff, including writing daily progress notes when necessary.
- Make treatment recommendations in collaboration with the radiologist.
- Lead and participate in process improvement projects within the radiology program.
- Current licensure and certification to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Georgia.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
- Experience in interventional radiology or comparable invasive procedures preferred.
- Strong proficiency in written and oral communication with medical professionals and patients.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The salary range for this position is $115,000–$125,000. Final determinations may vary based on several factors including education, work experience, certifications, geographic location, etc. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
