Registered Nurse - Peri Operative

Provide direct patient care and support to surgical patients before, during, and after operative procedures.

• Assess patient's physical and psychological condition prior to surgery and develop a plan of care.
• Administer pre-operative medications and treatments as ordered.
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and post-operative care.
• Circulate in the operating room, ensuring a safe and sterile environment, and managing necessary supplies and equipment.
• Assist the surgical team with procedures as needed.
• Monitor patient's vital signs and condition during the intraoperative phase.
• Provide post-anesthesia care, monitoring patients as they recover from anesthesia.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in the patient's electronic health record.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Minimum of 1-2 years of Registered Nurse experience.
• Experience in a peri-operative setting is required.

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required depending on patient population.

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in sterile technique.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments.
• Familiarity with anesthesia principles.

Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is required.
