Description:
First Class Healthcare is seeking a skilled and mission‐driven Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high‐quality medical care within a correctional healthcare environment. This role offers autonomy, a supportive clinical team, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes in an underserved population.
Scope of Work:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients, ensuring alignment with FCH clinical standards.
- Conduct detailed medical assessments, including physical exams, history reviews, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Perform minor procedures such as laceration repair and incision & drainage (I&D).
- Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe medications while monitoring for side effects and interactions.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate lifesaving interventions.
- Manage chronic medical conditions to promote stability and prevent complications.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to support integrated care for psychiatric conditions.
- Promote preventive care, health education, and communicable disease mitigation.
- Consult with medical leadership and contribute to clinical protocol development.
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation of all patient encounters.
- Follow all security and safety protocols within the correctional environment.
- Maintain professionalism, ethical conduct, and confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and required meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support FCH’s mission and values.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or completion of an accredited PA program.
- At least one year of experience as a licensed and certified APP.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current NP or PA licensure in the State of Georgia.
- Current DEA registration.
- BLS Certification (required by first day of work).
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or correctional healthcare.
- Board certification in a relevant specialty.
