Hospice Liaison (Marketer / Sales) This position covers Cherokee and Bartow Counties for an established, well known hospice agency expanding operations into this area. Position Overview
The Hospice Liaison is responsible for building and sustaining referral relationships within the healthcare community that consistently generate new admissions to a hospice program. This is a predominantly field-based role requiring regular, in-person engagement with medical and senior care providers across an assigned territory.
The Liaison serves as an educational resource and trusted partner to physicians, discharge planners, social workers, nurse leaders, and other healthcare decision-makers by delivering ongoing education about hospice services, care models, and patient eligibility. Success in this role is driven by territory ownership, relationship development, and a growing depth of hospice knowledge.
This position reports to senior business development leadership and works closely with interdisciplinary clinical and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities(Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following):
Relationship Development & Referral Growth- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare referral partners that result in consistent patient admissions.
- Identify and engage key decision-makers to understand their priorities, challenges, and referral processes.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts within the territory.
- Own and manage an assigned geographic territory and portfolio of referral sources.
- Maintain accurate prospect and account information within CRM and reporting systems.
- Develop and manage sales forecasts with a high level of accuracy.
- Participate in contract discussions, renewals, and partnership development as appropriate.
- Operate within established marketing and business development budgets.
- Act as a hospice education resource by coordinating and delivering in-service programs alongside clinical staff.
- Present hospice services to physicians’ offices, hospitals, senior living communities, civic organizations, faith-based groups, and similar audiences.
- Clearly articulate the organization’s value proposition and differentiate services based on the needs of specific referral partners.
- Document daily activity and interactions using required technology platforms (CRM, email, scheduling tools, etc.).
- Participate in regular sales meetings, planning sessions, and account reviews.
- Utilize pre-call planning, in-meeting discovery, and post-visit follow-up to maximize account effectiveness.
- Ensure all activities align with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in orientation, staff meetings, interdisciplinary group meetings, and other required sessions.
- Demonstrate hospice philosophy and values in all professional interactions.
- Commit to ongoing personal and professional development in sales, marketing, and hospice care.
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and collaborative approach to the role.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
OR - Associate degree with a minimum of two years of relevant healthcare experience
- At least two years of experience in healthcare, sales, or a related field
- Familiarity with relationship-based sales and account management practices preferred
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (verbal and written)
- High ethical standards and strong follow-through
- Ability to work effectively across diverse cultural, social, and religious environments
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and team-oriented
