Position SummaryThe Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of electrical, instrumentation, and automated control systems throughout the facility. This position provides technical support to maintenance and production teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The I&E Specialist will utilize expertise in PLCs, motor controls, instrumentation, electrical distribution systems, and process automation to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and support ongoing process improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, instrumentation, and control systems throughout the facility.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities on electrical and automation equipment.
- Assist with the implementation, startup, and optimization of new control systems and equipment.
- Research, recommend, and develop improved electrical and control processes to increase reliability and efficiency.
- Monitor recurring equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Identify weaknesses within electrical and automation systems and develop long‑term solutions.
- Interpret and apply electrical schematics, control drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems, HMIs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and related automation equipment.
- Support production and maintenance personnel by providing technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance.
- Train operators and maintenance technicians on equipment operation, controls, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable electrical codes, company policies, and safety standards.
- Document modifications, repairs, and changes to electrical and control systems.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and reliability programs.
- Support plant projects, equipment installations, and system upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system performance.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM with some weekend work required - Benefits:
