Assists nursing in preparation of infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric surgical patients; functions as a member of the sterile team in creating and maintaining a sterile field. The person is this position is accountable to the OR Lead RN and Director of Surgical Services. Must exhibit guest relation skills.

The scrub surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure andis constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Position

Qualifications:

• Must have graduated from an accredited scrub technician school
• Experience as a certified scrub tech preferred
• Must be certified as a scrub technician in the state of Illinois. Licensed in the state of Illinois preferred, ifnot licensed upon hire then licensure will be required3 months after hire.
• Current CPR Certification

The pay grade assigned to this position is 3000; the link provided shows the pay range. Compensation Information All wages are determined by experience and skills; wage information will be discussed further upon interview selection.
