The Ancillary Pharmacy Technician is responsible for managing incoming refill requests from patients, pharmacies, and Licensed Practitioners. This role ensures accurate, timely processing of medication refills while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting safe medication practices.
To be successful in this position, the Ancillary Pharmacy Technician will need to be thorough when carrying out duties, successful in maintaining patient records of prescription refills and ensuring follow-up of refill requests. Customer service and providing an excellent patient experience are key attributes of the position.
Position Accountabilities:
- Receive and process prescription refill requests via phone, Graham's electronic systems (e.g., e-prescribing platforms), patient portal, and fax.
- Review patient medication profiles for accuracy, allergies, duplications, and adherence.
- Verify refill eligibility based on Licensed Practitioner orders, protocols, and last visit requirements.
- Route refill requests to appropriate Licensed Practitioner for approval when necessary.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Position
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Pharmacy Technician certification (CPht) or equivalent is preferred.
