Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

Creative Financial Staffing is partnered with a nonprofit organization seeking a Controller to lead their accounting department.

  Work in-office on Mondays and Fridays
  , with flexibility in start and end times.
• Strong Leadership Support: The CFO is a highly collaborative mentor and team partner.

• Oversee all non-profit accounting functions, including tax returns,
  Form 990
  , regulatory filings, surveys, and HUD compliance.
• Manage financial reporting, including reconciliations, journal entries, financial statements, and cash reconciliations.
• Handle 100 leases across vehicle and real estate assets.
• Work with 5 entities
  , managing intercompany transactions and multiple cash accounts.
• Support a large operational structure with 200 service locations
  across six states.

• Directly manage a team of five (AP Manager and accountants).
• Oversee 8-10 indirect reports.
• This role does not oversee Payroll, AR, or Billing.

• Utilize Great Plains (experience with the system is a plus but not required).
• Prepare financial reports and compliance documents.

• 5+ years of non-profit industry experience in an accounting role is required

• Strong technical accounting and compliance expertise.
• Experience managing a high-volume, multi-entity financial structure

• Leadership experience managing accounting teams.

• Salary: $135,, depending on experience
