The Managing Consultant is responsible for strategically consulting on their own block of business while also leading client service efforts and staff to ensure client retention and overall satisfaction. She/he will oversee strategy, financial analysis, benefit design, plan renewals, benchmarking, and overall service delivery. They will also effectively communicate One Digital’s value proposition and latest industry trends to active clients and mentor and train staff in best practices of client relationship development and consulting techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee workloads and workflows to ensure deliverables are met and/or exceeded
  • Grow book through cross‑selling opportunities
  • Oversee the onboarding of new clients by working collaboratively with client service team(s) to establish the implementation plan, team and timeline
  • Build strong and productive relationships with clients, partners and fellow leadership teams
  • Establish effective carrier/vendor relationships to serve clients in benefits procurement and administration
  • Attend carrier events to remain up to date and knowledgeable of carrier plans and changes, as well as maintain strong relationships
  • Leverage the company’s national and local resources to drive greater operational efficiencies
  • Develop sophisticated benefit design and renewal strategies and drive the development of solutions to address complex client issues
  • Work closely with account management and/or client service teams on pre‑renewal strategy, RFP distribution, SPR’s, open enrollment strategy and post renewal analysis
  • Determine the full scope of services to be provided to client
  • Clearly establish and communicate timelines with the client service team(s) and keep them apprised of changes and renewal updates
  • Maintain accountability for revenue and profitability for client accounts and projects and keep all involved parties up to date
  • Maintain a full understanding of the insurance markets, funding alternatives, networks and benefit plan options
  • Ensure accuracy of client data in CRM
  • Remain fully knowledgeable on compliance issues governed by legislation and regulations impacting employer-sponsored health and welfare plans such as HIPAA, ERISA, Tax Code SEC 125, PPACA and state-sponsored health insurance exchanges
  • Identify and efficiently resolve employee relations and operational issues
  • Build and foster a positive workplace culture
  • Act as mentor to staff to assist in resolving client issues and development of solutions
  • Monitor the success of projects in terms of scope, budget, timeliness and client satisfaction
  • Ensure client services team(s) exceed client expectations
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with professionalism and discretion
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of the insurance business
  • Ability to work with clients and partners at a strategic level
  • Ability to influence and effectively interact with members of the C‑suite
  • Ability to work collaboratively with leadership teams to meet and exceed goals
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
