Job Summary:

You will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for mechanical components and systems in construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical trades and construction processes, along with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:

* Review and evaluate requests for estimates and project quotations, as needed.

* Prepare the weekly bid calendar and ensure estimates are completed on time.

* Prepare and review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.

* Create job folders.

* Perform takeoffs from construction documents.

* Review construction documents to understand the scope of work for bidding.

* Obtain material pricing and subcontractor bids.

* Develop estimates when predetermined standards are not available.

* Notify the immediate supervisor of any inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or the estimating database.

* Develop and maintain cost data.

* Maintain estimating procedures and guidelines.

* Develop and maintain resource information for products, vendors, and subcontractors.

* Attend branch meetings.

Requirements

Qualifications:

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

* Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam construction software is a plus.

* Strong customer service and communication skills.

* Reliable attendance and punctuality to support timely, high-quality customer responsiveness.

* Ability to perform work accurately, with urgency, integrity, and strong attention to detail.

* HVAC experience preferred.

* Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred; technical certifications and relevant work experience will also be considered.

* 3-5 years of experience in mechanical estimating.

* Working knowledge of mechanical drawings, schedules, details, and specifications.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
