Job DescriptionThe Luce Elementary School is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as a Permanent Building Substitute from early February to Mid-May. The Permanent Building Substitute will join a vibrant and supportive team that places a high priority on collaboration, creativity, flexibility, and commitment to the goals of the District and to our students, families and staff.
The Luce Elementary School is an inclusive community for all students and staff and serves over 500 students in grades K‑5. It is elevating the educational experience for our students by cultivating a school culture and climate that promotes academic growth and social emotional learning for every student, and ensures high quality teaching and learning through purposeful design of rigorous and equitable student experiences.

JOB SUMMARYTo provide instructional and supervisory support to students. The Permanent Building Substitute is a full‑time position from early February to Mid‑May and primarily serves to fill in for educational or instructional positions as needed by building administration. This position is an integral part of the day‑to‑day operations and supports the entire school community.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES- Fill in as a classroom teacher, educational assistant or support personnel within the school building as assigned by the principal.
- Support the school, staff and students.
- Be a positive and collaborative member of the school community.
- Demonstrate flexibility and patience; these qualities are key to success in this role.
- High school degree required; bachelor's preferred.
- Teaching degree preferred.
Recent experience working with school‑age children. - Alternatives to the above qualifications may be considered if the superintendent finds them appropriate and acceptable.
- Other requirements as deemed necessary by the Superintendent of Schools.
Reports To: Building Principal / Assistant Principal
Work Year: Early February – Mid May
Compensation: $165 per day
